Your subject has to be still, so it is quite difficult to do people, though possible if you have a very patient model that can actually hold still, perhaps lying down. It is amazing for things like garden statues, rocks, fossils, and similar. If your lighting is good, and your subject is not shiny, then it can be incredible. Memento is awesome for certain kinds of work, and not so good for others. However, I have used both 123D Catch and Memento. I have not used Agisoft Photoscan, so I cannot say how Memento compares. LOOKS LIKE RECAP IS BACK ONLINE, I JUST SENT THE PHOTOS FOR PROCESSING. High settings with PhotoScan, again no post processing at all with this as well. Use high settings for this one and uploaded it straight from Zephyr, no post processing at all.ĭoll using Agisoft PhotoScan (High Quality) Will update later this afternoon when I get off. It looks very good, but since im at work right now I dont have time to truely compare the models. Recap took right at 2 hours for the entire process, from uploading to downloading the file. Its strange how dark the model is compared to 3DF, nothing different was done with the photos. The model itself is still in pointcloud form so it still needs more processing.Īgisoft Photoscan came in at 14min for processing. VisualSFM came in at 12min but as you can see created a TON of noisy data. This could be good or bad, just depends on how you look at things. I have a feeling the software optimizes the pohotos before creating a model. Also I shoudl note that the model created by 3DF was much brighter than the Agisoft model. This software took the longest out of all of them coming in at 33min, but also produced a model with 4 times the faces and vertices as all the the other scans, so yeah. I tried to keep all the settings the same between all software, but not every company does things the same so things will be a little different. The photos are all 13MP and there are 81 in total. I took test data from Agisofts website, the doll project. Couldnt find my original data so i decided to do another test so here you go.
